Also a grandmother with her new grandchild was enjoying the afternoon, with Pat’s famous homemade carrot cake and tea for all! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We were looking at the theme of “The Mustard Seed” and thinking about how the largest and smallest things are all so important and work together. We planted mustard seeds and went on a treasure hunt for pennies to put on a map of our area to show what we treasure in our community. Everyone had a lovely time followed by delicious sausage casserole and stewed apples and custard. Thank you to everyone who came and to the team. Next Messy Church in on Sunday 13th October. All welcome. ![]() ![]() ![]() We had a big turnout for the Teddy Bears’ Picnic service in Southleigh on 1 September. We started with a small and simple act of worship. Many Southleigh families turned out and a wide range of soft toys were launched from the tower, with bravery certificates for all. The afternoon concluded with a cream tea, much appreciated – especially by the stalwart team who climbed the tower. ![]() ![]() ![]() A Teddy Bears Picnic took place in warm sunshine at Noah’s Ark today (18th July) in the grounds of Chapel of Ease of Saint Michael, Colyford. The children and their families enjoyed a teddy bear hunt, singing and dancing, parachute play and a story. A lovely tea was provided by the wonderful team of volunteers and visiting German students kindly helped with face painting. Noah’s Ark will recommence again in the new school term in September, but all the team would like to wish everyone a happy summer with your families. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Children from Branscombe School and the Jubilee Federation had a lovely time in the sunshine on the beach on Monday July 8th. They worked together beautifully as a team to sculpt this image of the Titanic using different coloured pebbles. ![]() Village Praise for Musbury Church at 10.00 am on Sunday May 19th will take place at Trill, ![]() in the Herb Garden Lifts can be arranged. Come and visit Trill and learn more about how herbs help us. ![]() Noah’s Ark for toddlers and Messy Church for primary age children return in the summer term with a full programme of events where everyone is welcome. Noah’s Ark continues at the Colyford Memorial Hall from 1.15-2.45 on alternate Thursdays; dates: April 25 (with egg hunt), May 9 and 23, June 6 and 20, July 4 and 18. Messy Church at the Reece Strawbridge Centre in Colyton from 4.00-6.00 monthly on the second Sunday: dates: May 12, June 9 and July 14. Messy Church is also meeting on Good Friday, 19 April at St Andrew’s Church Colyton. Our children’s events start again in the New Year and all are very welcome! ![]() Messy Church continues at the Reece Strawbridge Centre from 4.00-6.00 pm on Sundays January 13th, February 10th and March 10th. ![]() Noah’s Ark at Colyford Hall from 1.15-2.45 pm continues fornightly on Thursdays, dates January 10th and 24th, February 7th and 28th, March 14th and 28th and on April 25th with egghunt and tea. We start on Advent Sunday, 2 December, with Advent Carols in Branscombe at 6.00 pm. Christmas carol services around the Mission Community at follows: We conclude with an Epiphany Carol Service on Sunday 20th January at 6.30 in Colyton. Everyone is welcome to join us for our music and worship.
You’re invited to join us at one of our Christingles – a fun and wondrous time of worship for all the family. 3rd December (Monday) at 6.00 pm in Branscombe – together with the school. 9th December in Colyton, “Messy Christingle” – activties with Messy Church at 4.00 pm, including Christingle making; then the service starting at around 5.00, and with light refreshments. 22nd December (Saturday) at 4.00 pm in Southleigh. Noah’s Ark (for babies and toddlers with carers) and Messy Church (for families) continue this summer. All are welcome.
