The Marriage Service

You will be able to plan your service with the priest's help. You may want to start thinking about readings, hymns and music now, and you can find suggestions on the Church of England wedding website.

Weddings

I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine  Song of Songs 6.3

Marriage is not something done by us to you, but by you. Our task is to enable this to happen, to ask for God’s blessing on your marriage and to support you as you take this momentous step of joining your lives together in the presence of God.

Getting married in Holyford Mission Community

We are delighted to welcome you to be married in one of our churches. If either of you lives in one of the parishes, you are entitled to be married there. If you both live elsewhere, but one of you has a strong connection with the church, there are many ways in which you can still qualify to be married in the church.

The first step is to contact the Administrator, Caz Jefferies. She will answer your questions and help arrange a date and time.  Please see How do we book our wedding?

You will have the opportunity to meet the minister who is taking your service a few months before the wedding to make sure all your preparations are on track and ask any questions. Nearer the time you will meet with the officiating minister to discuss details of the service and talk about marriage. There will also be a rehearsal in church a day or two before the wedding.

We are always happy to answer your questions and help in any way we can.
