I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine Song of Songs 6.3
Marriage is not something done by us to you, but by you. Our task is to enable this to happen, to ask for God’s blessing on your marriage and to support you as you take this momentous step of joining your lives together in the presence of God.
Getting married in Holyford Mission Community
We are delighted to welcome you to be married in one of our churches. If either of you lives in one of the parishes, you are entitled to be married there. If you both live elsewhere, but one of you has a strong connection with the church, there are many ways in which you can still qualify to be married in the church.
The first step is to contact the Rector, Revd Hilary Dawson. Hilary will answer your questions and agree a date and time. Please see How do we book our wedding?
You will have the opportunity to meet Hilary, or the minister who is taking your service, a few months before the wedding to make sure all your preparations are on track and ask any questions. Nearer the time you will meet with Hilary or the officiating minister to discuss details of the service and talk about marriage. There will also be a rehearsal in church a day or two before the wedding.
We are always happy to answer your questions and help in any way we can.
The Holyford wedding album is now online
Would you like to share your memories of the big day? Did you get married in one of our five churches? We have created a slide show of wedding photos on the Wedding Album page. If you would like to participate, we would love to include you. Please send a photo or two, noting your names, the date and the church, to the Mission Community office. We can use either digital or printed photos – for details see underneath the slide show.
